![]() ![]() The different configurations of limbs (regular arms unnaturally bent with blades in the palms versus newly-constructed arms bursting from the shoulder blades) and injuries (split-open "smiling" jaw, missing lower jaw, bisected face) were so immersive. Overall, I think they look good, I just have a few hangups. I like the corpse-like eyes, but I still miss the black ones. ![]() The stringy hair always looked nice and kinda made me imagine the necromorph's skin was clammy. I also think the lack of hair is a negative. ![]() It makes sense for corpses that have been there a while, but whenever we see a living person turned, I always thought they stayed "fresh." Their skin might be warm still, they had the complexion of a living person. They do seem more corpse-like, but I'm conflicted. The remake developers said they were doing some rewrites with the story, but it is a bit of a disappointment either way, if this was done as a purposeful retcon, or as an accidental oversight in the design. ![]() Honestly, this is the detail that really bothers me, since this actually contradicts a tidbit of the lore. According to the lore in the original games (pretty sure you found this info in a log in the first game), organs that no longer have any use, such as the digestive system, are turned into muscle, increasing the necro's strength far beyond any human's (which is part of the reason why they're so deadly to Issac who is in a metal suit). However, the thing that bothers me the most, are the exposed and visible organs. The first image very well could be an enhanced slasher, which explains the deep discolorings, but all the other necros look pale and greyish as well, like they've been buried/dead for a while. Personally, not a huge fan all the necros we've seen so far in the final footages look 'decomposed' and (I hate to say this, but) a bit more like "generic" zombies, instead of mutilated, agonized car crash victims. ![]()
